Newham Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advisory Board – Get Involved!

We’re excited to launch a brand new Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advisory Board (NDAB) here in Newham — and we’re looking for 10 local people to get involved.

This is your chance to help shape services, share your experiences, and make real change happen in our community.

What will the Advisory Board do?

The NDAB will support our Deaf Outreach Worker in:

  • Sharing ideas on how to improve access to services, especially in:
    • Health and social care
    • Community spaces and services
    • Other local support
  • Helping decide which issues should be prioritised and focused on
  • Offering ongoing advice, support and insight

Who can apply?

You can express your interest if you:

  • Live, work or study in Newham
  • Are part of a local charity, community or faith group
  • Want to represent the views of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing community

We also welcome individuals with special knowledge or lived experience that can support the board’s work.

When will it meet?

The board will meet every two months.
The first meeting is planned for Friday 25th July 2025.
