On Thursday 31 July, Healthwatch Newham joined the quarterly Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) event at Bethnal Green Library. The session brought together local women, birthing people, midwives, NHS staff, and community organisations from across Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

On 27 June 2025, Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents gathered at 2 Gerry Raffles Square to share their experiences and concerns regarding health and care services in Newham. The session highlighted several ongoing barriers faced by the community, particularly around communication and access.

The latest Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) Quarterly Meeting brought together parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to discuss key challenges in maternity and antenatal care. The event highlighted some recurring issues and provided valuable insights into how care can be improved moving forward.

In October 2024, Holly joined Healthwatch Newham as our Deaf Community Outreach Worker. Since then, she has been connecting with Deaf residents across Newham to hear directly from them about their experiences with health services.

On 14th March 2025, Newham Council and Healthwatch Newham came together for a powerful Community Safeguarding Event aimed at raising awareness and driving change across the borough.

Through active engagement, meaningful conversations, and collaboration with healthcare providers, MNVP works to amplify service user voices and drive improvements in Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and Newham.

At Healthwatch Newham, we are dedicated to improving access to healthcare services for all residents. To support this effort, we are pleased to introduce the Patient Information Sheet, a vital resource designed to guide residents on where to go for medical care when it’s not an emergency.

The Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) is a collaborative team of service users, midwives, nurses, doctors, and commissioners, working together to review and shape local maternity care across Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and Newham. MNVP is committed to listening to the experiences and perspectives of service users from diverse communities, amplifying these voices, and co-producing with the Barts NHS Trust to improve maternity and neonatal services across all three boroughs, ultimately addressing health inequalities.
